Siskiyou EDC Moderates Northstate Forecast Closing Session

Chico, Calif., Januray 17, 2023— Our team joined a fleet of expertise during last week's North State Planning and Development Collective Annual Economic Forecast Conference. 
 
Led by leaders in economics, natural resources policy and business, the focus of the conversation centered around climate, drought, and the impacts felt within the agriculture industry. 

Conference highlights included an economic update from Dr. Robert Eyler, and presentation of the Sierra Nevada Climate Vulnerability Assessment by the Sierra Business Council.

Afternoon sessions included key speaking moments by Jamie Johnansen, California Farm Bureau Federation President, who discussed the impact of water scarcity management practices on California Farms. David Guy, the President of the Northern California Water Users Association teamed up with Thadd Bettner, General Manager at Glenn Colusa Irrigation District to present wholistic watershed strategies.

To cap off the experience, SEDC's own Kory Hayden moderated the closing session highlighting perspectives from small and midsized agriculture producers.
