Shasta-cascade Small Business Development Center

In 2023 the Siskiyou Small Business Development Center expanded to provide services reaching Siskiyou, Shasta and Trinity county businesses. The Shasta-Cascade SBDC provides exceptional business advising services, including 1:1 advising, capital readiness and technical business training.

Discover Siskiyou

In 2015, the SEDC helped local lodging properties to form the Siskiyou County Tourism Improvement District. The district is managed by the lodging properties, to drive overnight stays in Siskiyou County through marketing and sales promotion efforts. The strategy is realized through the Discover Siskiyou marketing campaign, which is key to economic sustainability in Siskiyou County. In 2020, the TID was renewed through 2030.

Siskiyou Farm Co.

In 2022, the SEDC launched several new agriculture programs, including Siskiyou Farm Co., a regional centralized online marketplace for local producers to aggregate, market, and sell locally raised and produced food. The online platform launched in April after completing a year of beta testing with local consumers.

shasta-cascade innovation hub

The SEDC staff is creating state and nationally-recognized innovation programs for agriculture, outdoor tourism, and clean energy. The SEDC secured USDA RISE and Accelerate California funding, to help Siskiyou evolve at the intersection of industry and climate. New and expanded business innovation programs provide agriculture, outdoor recreation, and clean energy industries with dedicated expertise and resources to connect, innovate and grow. SEDC innovation programs provide a forward-thinking approach and new ways for Siskiyou, Trinity, and Shasta county businesses to solve emerging economic challenges, together.

Siskiyou Brownfields

The SEDC provides exceptional leadership in brownfield assessment and cleanup, resulting in cleaner, safer, healthier cities, and new business and developments. In partnership with the City of Mt. Shasta, the Siskiyou EDC has leveraged over $800,000 in EPA funding to complete assessment and cleanup work on the Landing, bringing the site to near completion and to being fully prepared for redevelopment.

CARNEGIE LIBRARY REHABILITATION

The Yreka Carnegie Library Rehabilitation Project is part of a shared vision for economic development— to advance the prosperity of our rural communities by supporting the long-standing economic, community, and tourism needs of the region. The project will save a national treasure, and introduce a new venue for conferences, events, business innovation services, and tourism. The project brings together multisectoral, multi-jurisdictional, and multi-agency support. The project will receive support from the California Jobs First Pilot Program, the USDA RISE program, and community partners.
