Siskiyou County Projects Selected for CA Jobs First Catalyst Awards, $9 Million Awarded for Regional Economic Development
The Siskiyou County Economic Development Council is proud to announce that Siskiyou County is the recipient of multiple awards from the CA Jobs First Catalyst Fund. In the North State region, 23 projects were selected for pre-development funding for their alignment with the North State Regional Strategies Plan. The Siskiyou County Economic Development Council is the recipient of two small awards to advance entrepreneurship and job creation in outdoor recreation and agriculture.
The Siskiyou Outdoor Recreation Industry Sector Partnership project will supporting the growth of outdoor recreation businesses in Siskiyou County through collaboration, infrastructure planning, and workforce development. The Siskiyou Farm Co Business Incubator is a business incubation project to support new and existing ventures in local agriculture and food systems, consistent with the region’s focus on sustainable growth and entrepreneurship.
“These Catalyst Fund awards are a testament to Siskiyou County’s vision for a more resilient, diversified rural economy,” said Tonya Dowse, Executive Director of the Siskiyou County Economic Development Council. “Our projects—rooted in outdoor recreation and agriculture—reflect the strengths of our communities and our readiness to lead in key sectors identified in the North State Regional Strategies Plan.”

The Siskiyou County Economic Development Council extends gratitude to the North State co-conveners, the North State Planning and Development Collective and the Sierra Institute, for their leadership and commitment to an inclusive planning process, and for leading forward-thinking collaboration across our rural North State communities.
Looking ahead, the State of California has allocated $150 million statewide for competitive implementation funding. Siskiyou County and other regional partners are encouraged to build on their momentum and prepare for implementation-ready proposals.
