Shasta-Cascade Innovation Hub Launches, with Key Cal OSBA Investment
The Shasta-Cascade Innovation Hub launches with key investment from CalOSBA and Senate Bill 193: Accelerate CA.
[October 2, 2023, Yreka, Calif.] The Siskiyou County Economic Development Council (SEDC) has secured key funding to support innovation in Agriculture, Outdoor Recreation, and Wood Utilization in the Shasta-Cascade region over the next four years. The SEDC will oversee the Shasta-Cascade Inclusive Innovation Hub based on the five pillars of innovation— providing technical assistance, resource provider access, subject matter expertise, capital provider access, and physical space for innovation. The designation was made possible by Senate Bill 193: Accelerate CA, and the California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA), to accelerate innovation start up and growth in underserved regions across the state. The Shasta-Cascade Innovation Hub will connect leading expertise, market opportunities and cohort engagement to Agriculture, Outdoor Recreation and Wood Utilization businesses in Siskiyou, Shasta and Trinity counties to build a stronger, more resilient future in the three county region.
The Cal OSBA team joined Siskiyou and Shasta County leaders, and local businesses to celebrate the kickoff of the four year designation on Monday, October 2nd. Senate Bill 193; Accelerate CA will invest $13M in thirteen Inclusive Innovation Hubs spanning the state over the next four years. Read more.
