SEDC Program Managers Address Next Generation Engagement at CALED Conference
[Los Angeles, CA - June 22, 2023]— Siskiyou Economic Development Council program managers, Alia and Quintin, provided a well-received and attended presentation at the 2023 CALED Annual Conference this week, focusing on engaging the next generation of economic developers. They spoke on culture, career pathways, mission and impact, rethinking metrics, and changing organizational structures.
CALED and its members gather annually to learn about current economic development strategies and topics, network with colleagues, and highlight California’s economic leaders, successes, and partnerships.
Quintin Gaddy serves the SEDC as the Director of the Shasta-Cascade Small Business Development Center. Quintin provides the region with exceptional business development expertise, with a dedicated track record of building successful Community Development Block Grant programs serving Siskiyou County businesses. Quintin provides exceptional leadership for the Shasta-Cascade Small Business Development Center, for Siskiyou, Shasta and Trinity counties. Quintin holds a Master of Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in International Affairs, focusing on the intersections of technology and sustainable development.
Alia Roca-Lezra oversees the SEDC’s climate and sustainability programs, including programs that inform economic and environmental advancement in Siskiyou’s economies. Alia successfully developed Siskiyou County’s Climate Collaborative, a program funded by California’s Strategic Growth Council. With a degree in economics and environmental studies, Alia brings exceptional leadership and expertise to program development, project oversight, contract management, analytic research, and climate resilience partnerships and networks.
